The Robo Ravens Mission
The Robo Ravens strive to foster passion for STEM in the minds of future innovators by cultivating a culture of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration through robotics. Founded in 2013 as a class team, over the years the Robo Ravens have evolved into a multi-school competitive organization with a focus on giving our members a comprehensive robotics experience. |
Robo Ravens' Core Values
InclusionThe Robo Ravens believe that FIRST can be a transformative experience in the life of any individual. That's why we allow anyone interested in FTC to join the Robo Ravens, regardless of prior experience, talent, or skill. This emphasis on inclusion segues into our other core values and is the base on which our team's identity rests.
CommunityThe Robo Ravens place a great importance on the value of our community and other communities, at a variety of levels. The Robo Ravens seek to source members from a variety of schools. We mentor our local FLL team, the Robotic Space Cadets. And we work internationally with the Metropolitan School of Panama, assisting them in their endeavors to compete in FLL and FTC despite not possessing a FIRST Regional Director.

EducationEducation is how the Robo Ravens contribute not only externally, to our community, but also internally. The Robo Ravens ensure that members new to FTC receive the education necessary not only to start contributing to the team in whatever area they choose, but in addition general education on the ins and outs of FTC to better inform that decision and enhance their robotics experience moving forwards.
FlexibilityUnlike other teams at CCA and in general, the Robo Ravens do not restrict their members to certain areas of robotics (programming, engineering, business, etc.). The Robo Ravens believe that at a high school level members should be able to explore the various fields to receive a more complete experience. That's why the Robo Ravens allow members to contribute in however many fields they wish, so long as they put in the effort required to do so.

Our Achievements
Connect Award Relic Recovery
" This judged award is given to the team that most connects with their local science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) community. A true FIRST team is more than a sum of its parts and recognizes that engaging their local STEM community plays an essential part in their success. The recipient of this award is recognized for helping the community understand FIRST, the FIRST Tech Challenge, and the team itself. The team that wins the Connect Award aggressively seeks and recruits engineers and explores the opportunities available in the world of engineering, science and technology. This team has a clear team plan and has identified steps to achieve their goals."

STEAM in Panama
" STEAM in Panama is an outreach mission started by FTC Team 7159 Robo Ravens and assisted by FRC Team 3128 Aluminum Narwhals and Canyon Crest Academy’s (CCA) Envision Humanities Conservatory. It aims to cultivate knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) in Panama City, Panama. The goal of the program is to inspire students to follow their own FIRST paths, whether that be pursuing a future in STEAM, joining robotics or other team activities, or starting their own FIRST team. "

Design Award Runner-Up Rover
Ruckus " This judged award recognizes design elements of the robot that are both functional and aesthetic. The Design Award is presented to teams that incorporate industrial design elements into their solution. These design elements could simplify the robot’s appearance by giving it a clean look, be decorative in nature, or otherwise express the creativity of the team. The robot should be durable, efficiently designed, and effectively address the game challenge. "
